Studio MTR

Mark’s recent work includes drawings, works on paper, mixed media, sculpture and photography. Some of the work is dark, some of it is light, some is commentary and some is reflective. His early work was figurative, alegorical and was deeply influenced by countless artists, the natural world, by legends and myth, and by his mother and uncle who were talented painters. Later his work evolved to become less figurative and more exploratory. At the Rhode Island School of Design, he studied drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, typography and graphic design. Prior to college, Mark's photographic eye and darkroom skills were advanced enough to gain him entry into Apeiron Photographic Workshops to study with photographer Paul Caponigro (Sr).
